进入21世纪以来,卫星重力的发展被认为是大地测量学领域在继GPS(全球定位系统)后的又一次革命性进步。尤其是低轨重力卫星计划GRACE的成功实施,为研究地球重力场时空变化提供了丰富的观测数据,给地球物理学、大地测量学、水文学和冰川学等领域带来了勃勃生机。极地的战略地位显得越发重要,然而中国对极地的研究尚少。鉴于此,《Massvariationsofpolaricesheetobservedfromspace》重点介绍了目前从GRACE观测数据里提取出地球表面质量迁移信号的主流方法(mascon:massconcentration)的关键技术,包括很优的参数化方法、基于Tikhonov的时空约束、观测数据的方差协方差矩阵等,并跟国际主流单位(美国宇航局喷气推进实验室NASA-JPL、戈达德飞行中心)的产品做出详细的分析比较。更重要的是,本书将对近十年来北极冰川的质量变化做出准确全面的评估,可以服务于国家目前准备开发的"冰上丝绸之路"-北极航道("一带一路"海上合作路线)。
