英语书信文稿 节选

《英语书信文稿》: Dear Julia: How are you? I am very interested in your "Asian American in the Arts Program," but the pity is that I can not take part in it. In the email I sent you on January 27th, I told you that I would leave Wuxi for Hainan to continue my work since I retired last year. And I said that I would keep in touch with you wherever I went. I came to Hainan Technology and Business College on February 25th. The problem is that I can not log onto the internet in my fiat of the Expert BuildingYuntil the day before yesterday. My mobile phone is not good enough. I read your email sent on March llth, but the pity is that it is not easy for me to send email by my mobile phone. Anyhow, I called Professor Gong Xiaobin, the dean of the School of Foreign Studies and Miss Xu Lanjuan, the secretary of the Center for American Studies and asked them to get in touch with Professor Zhong, Director of the Section for International Exchange and Cooperation at Jiangnan University to make a good arrangement for your visits and your "Asian American in the Arts Program."During the Seventh American Studies Network Conference held in Jiangnan University, and on Nov. 6th, Professor Mei Renyi, you and I, three ofus visited Jichang Garden. Before a stone tablet with inscription, you stood, read and said that a friend of yours asked you to make sure to visit their Garden of Qin's Clan. In the Conference Notice- "Welcome to the 2010 International ASN Conference in Wuxi," I wrote: "Visitors can enjoy Jichang Garden in Xihui Park where Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong lingered without any thought of returning to their palace during each of their "Six Visits to Jiangnan." I know the garden originally belong to Qin's Clan, but the pity is that I have not any clues connected with the Clan of Qin Guan, the great ci Master of Song Dynasty. On November 17th last year, at our lOth Anniversary ASN Conference hosted by the University of Hong Kong, you introduced Professor Frank Ching to me, and I heard his introduction about his book Ancestors: 900 Years in the Life of a Chinese Family. Still, I had no connection with Qin Guan. And it only made me think about Qin Bangxian, also known as Bo Gu from Russian 60ryHOB, in Chinese "Bo Gu Nuo Fu," whose childhood name was Chang Lin, also styled Ze Min (1907-1946), born in a distinguished family of Qin Clan, a family of scholars in Wuxi. After Zunyi Meeting, under the correct leadership of the Party Central Committee headed by Mao Zedong, Qin Bangxian made a lot of great contributions to people's revolutionary cause. And Mao Zedong even wrote a special article to praise his vigorous work in the decades of his life, "for the people's cause, honored though died."The Former Residence of Bo Gu is located on Chongning Road at the center of Wuxi. It was called "Ji Xi Tang," the residence of Wuxi's celebrity, Qin Zhuoru, a clan uncle of Qin Bangxian, and it was built in the last years of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. Early in 2005, on the same day, when the Former Residence of Bo Gu had been repaired and opened to the public, "The Exhibition Hall of Qin Bangxian's Life Story" opened, too. The exhibition has six parts: "Being Diligent in His Studies and Dedicated Himself to the Service of China"; "Being in Pursuit of the Truth and Joined in Revolution"; "Been Entrusted with a Mission in Times of Danger and Went through all Kinds of Hardships and Difficulties";"Working for the United Front and Willingly Shed His Heart's Blood"; Being Engaged in Journalism and Had an Illustrious Chapter"; "Give His All till the Very End and Known through the Ages." ……
